Past are the days when educational institutions or businesses could ponder whether to include sustainability into their scope of attention. Past are the days when the early adopters pointed out the urgency, the importance, the relevance, the moral imperative or at least the business case for sustainability.

Today’s landscape calls for more than merely including sustainability into education, business or community action: it is a lens through which to analyze data, make decisions and design actions. Widespread information about the state of the planet helps us see that we are living in a transition time between failed economic models, inadequate social solutions and bad environmental habits – and a new reality, that we have barely thought through. Sustainability has become the portal for the new reality, and we don’t have a choice about using the portal or not. The SDGs provide us with the map. The strategy depends on our creativity.
